Exiles Take Shindagha to Tusk in Round 2 of Mammoth Cricket League

Round 2 of Dubai Cricket Council’s Mammoth League got underway this morning, and Exiles’ Vikram Nayak and Bhavik Thakkar led the way, both hitting an impressive 42 runs. Moin Deshmukh had a tremendous day in the Exiles‘ bowling attack, taking 5 wickets for 25 runs as Dubai Exiles Cricket Club kept up recent winning form against the Shindagha Mammoths.

Shindagha managed only 4 wickets, despite a furious bowling attack

At the the half way point, Exiles Cricket has managed to total 166 runs for 4 wickets off their 25 overs. Vikram Nayak contributed 42 runs, which included one x 6. Bhavik Thakkar also added 42 runs and Shayan Khilji was motoring along with 36 runs off 36 balls before being unfortunately run out. In this league, any score around the 160 to 170 runs seems to make the match distill into an exciting ending – and this one was to be no different.

Shindagha Mammoths opened strongly, Muhammad Mohsin had an excellent ‘knock’, scoring 42 before being caught by Uzair Khan of the bowling of Bhavik Thakkar. Hirantha Baddage also contributed strongly for Shindagha, 31 runs of 26 balls before being caught and bowled by Mithul Kapadia.

Despite Shindagha Mammoths‘ best efforts, they eventually fell short of the Exiles‘ total, being bowled out for 153 with 2 overs to spare.
